Maverick County Sheriff's Office(PRESS RELEASE)-February 20, 2015
County units were dispatched to Loop 480 in reference to a motor vehicle accident Monday evening, at approximately 7:15 PM. Upon arrival, contact was made with April Zapata, the driver of a 2009 gray Ford Focus, who stated she was traveling westbound on Loop 480 when she lost control of the vehicle after driving too close to the shoulder of the road. Ms. Zapata was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center by EMS crews after complaining of neck and shoulder pain. The Texas Department of Public Safety has taken over investigations.
