Deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident on US Highway 277 North Friday afternoon. County units arrived at the scene to observe a 1994 tan Geo Prizm involved in an accident with a 2012 Peterbilt dump truck owned by the City of Eagle Pass. The driver of the Prizm, identified as 82 year old Norma Leeth, was being assisted by a good Samaritan who had witnessed the accident when officers were contacting the occupants of both vehicles. 62 year old Fidencio Vasquez, the driver of the dump truck, told deputies the Geo had pulled over to the shoulder of the road and lost control and struck his truck, before rolling over twice and landing inside the Texas Aggregates Ranch property. EMS crews were summoned to the location, where Ms. Leeth was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for oberservation. The Texas Department of Public Safety was also present and took over the scene of the accident as well as the investigation.
