Maverick County Sheriff's Office(PRESS RELEASE)-November 06, 2014
County units responded to a motor vehicle accident five miles past the United States Border Patrol checkpoint on US Highway 57 Wednesday afternoon. Deputies arrived to find that a 2008 GMC Sierra pickup traveling southbound on the Highway 57 inside lane was struck by a white tractor trailer from behind. The occupants of the Sierra, an elderly male and elderly female, were later transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further medical treatment. The Texas Department of Public Safety arrived at the scene and took over the accident investigation.
