Deputies were dispatched to US Highway 277 East in reference to a motor vehicle accident on Thursday, July 31st. Deputies arrived at the scene to find a 2002 Chevrolet Colorado had struck a parked 2002 Freightliner with a belly dump on the shoulder of the highway. It was also noticed that the Chevy pickup had skid off the highway into the right hand side median. Both parties refused medical attention at the time of the incident. The accident is under investigation by the Maverick County Sheriff's Office.
