Maverick County Sheriff's Office(PRESS RELEASE)-Maverick County Sheriff's deputies responded to US Highway 57 this afternoon, near the Ancira Ford auto dealership, in reference to a multi-vehicle accident. Deputies arrived at the scene and made contact with the driver of a 2008 Dodge Durango, who stated they were traveling northbound on highway 57 when they collided into the back of a 1998 Ford Mini-Van. The impact of the the first collision sent the van careening into oncoming traffic, where a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado pickup struck the van a second time. Eagle Pass Fire Department and EMS crews arrived to the location to provide treatment. Two drivers were transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further medical treatment. The third driver was found deceased at the scene of the accident. The Texas Department of Public Safety took over the accident scene and investigation.
