Maverick County Sheriff's Office(PRESS RELEASE)-July 14, 2014

Deputies responded to U.S. Highway 57, mile marker 380, prior to the US Border Patrol Checkpoint, in reference to a vehicle on fire Monday. Deputies arrived to find a utility trailer engulfed in flames and made contact with the driver of a 2002 maroon Ford Lobo bearing Coahuila plates that was pulling the trailer. The male subject stated that he had the chance to release the utility trailer from the pickup before the fire could cause any damages to the vehicle. The Eagle Pass Fire Department assisted in extinguishing the fire and the driver, alongside his passengers, refused medical treatment. The United States Border Patrol assisted in traffic control.
