2nd Accident at intersection of FM1021 and Tierra Soberana Blvd.

Maverick County Sheriff's Office(PRESS RELEASE)-Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of FM1021(El Indio Highway) and Tierra Soberana Blvd. Saturday, July 5th, at approximately 4:15 PM, after receiving reports of a motor vehicle accident. Deputies arrived at the scene to observe two vehicles involved in a collision. The driver of a 2013 white Mitsubishi Lancer, identified as Rosa Munoz, a resident of Eagle Pass, Texas, stated she was at a complete stop on Tierra Soberana Blvd., looking to turn onto FM1021. In her attempt to turn onto FM1021 northbound, Ms. Munoz stated she did not notice a green 2001 Kia Spectra traveling southbound on the outer lane, when the two vehicles collided. The driver of the Kia Spectra, Arecely Tijerina, a resident of Eagle Pass, Texas, and her daughter were both transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further medical treatment.
