Maverick County Sheriff's Office (PRESS RELEASE)- On Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at approximately 2:07 AM, units were dispatched to U.S. Hwy 57 in reference to a rollover accident. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the driver of a tractor trailer who stated that he was travelling on Hwy 57 South towards Eagle Pass, Texas when another tractor trailer struck him on his side which led him to lose control of his vehicle. Driver stated that the operator of the other vehicle involved in the accident was passing a trailer when he veered onto the driver's lane and struck him. Driver of the other trailer was transported to Fort Duncan Medical Center for injuries sustained in the accident. Both drivers reside in Piedras Negras, Coahuila. This case has been handed over to the Texas Department of Public Safety for further investigation.
