PRESS RELEASE: Motor Vehicle Accident on Hopedale Road

Maverick County Sheriff's Office (PRESS RELEASE)-On Thursday, January 23, 2014 at approximately 1:46 AM, Maverick County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call in reference to a single motor vehicle accident report on FM 1589(Hopedale Road). Upon arrival deputies observed a 2002 silver Corvette stationary in the middle of the road. The Driver, identified as Guillermo Rodriguez of Eagle Pass, Texas, stated he was traveling eastbound on FM 1589 when he saw a deer on the road. Mr. Rodriguez further stated that the deer ran towards the vehicle, causing him to swerve and lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle struck a cement barrier, damaging its front and rear right panel. Mr. Rodriguez refused medical treatment at the time of the report. This accident remains under investigation.
