PRESS RELEASE: Maverick County Resident Succumbs to Overdose

Maverick County Sheriff's Office (PRESS RELEASE)- Maverick County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the 2900 block of Clavel Street in the early morning hours of January 30th, 2014 in reference to a possible overdose by a male subject. Upon arrival, deputies were informed by a female subject that her son had taken several boxes of cough and cold tablets for people suffering from high blood pressure. EMS were summoned to the location where the male subject was treated before being transported to Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center where he would later pass away. The male subject was declared deceased at 4:25 AM by Justice of the Peace Dora Madera. An autopsy on the deceased has been ordered.
