Criminal Mischief-A complainant on Calle Ella reported a known male subject had intentionally damaged his 2004 black Honda Civic. A formal report was filed.
Deceased Person-Deputies made contact with United States Border Patrol agents near the international port of entry 1 this afternoon after they observed an unknown male subject floating in the river. The body was recovered and a Justice of the Peace was contacted to pronounce the subject deceased. An autopsy to determine identity and cause of death was requested.
Dog Bite-A complainant on Las Quintas Blvd. reported an American Pitbull had attacked and bit a four year old in the back of the head. The child was transported to a local hospital before being airlifted to a San Antonio area hospital for further treatment. The dog was picked up by vector control for further investigation.
Recovered Stolen Firearm-Agents at the US Border Patrol checkpoint on US Highway 57 came across a .454 caliber handgun during a secondary inspection of a 1999 Dodge Ram pick up this afternoon. A check on the weapon revealed it had been reported as stolen out of Fort Bend County. The occupants of the vehicle were detained and transported to the Maverick Count Sheriff's Office for further questioning.
Assault/Family Violence/Resisting Arrest, search or Transport-Deputies this evening made contact with a victim on Yucca Circle who stated her boyfriend had become verbally aggressive towards her before rushing at her and placing his hands around her neck in an attempt to choke her. Contact was then made with the subject, thirty-one year old Joshua Edquin Kellam, who appeared in an intoxicated state and was acting in a disorderly manner. An attempt to place Mr. Kellam in hand restraints was made, however he began to pull away and give struggle before eventually being subdued. He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention for processing. The victim refused further medical attention at the time of the report.
