Maverick County Daily Reports-September 21, 2020

Wanted Person-Twenty year old Ismael Hernandez was arrested at the international port of entry 2 shortly after 2 AM this morning when a check revealed an open warrant for his arrest. The arrest warrant out of Harris County for Hernandez on vehicular manslaughter charges was confirmed and he was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center. 

Information Report-A call in regards to a possible burglary of a building this afternoon led to the discovery of several undocumented citizens inside a residence on the 800 block of Frente Street. Contact was made with Border Patrol agents who would take custody of approximately eight subjects found inside the home. 

Wanted Person/Possession of a Controlled Substance-Deputies on patrol this evening conducted a traffic stop on a 2011 BMW for a minor infraction. Contact was made with the driver identified as Fernando Mata, Jr., whose background check revealed an active warrant out of the Department of homeland Security for smuggling undocumented citizens. Upon further investigation, deputies also recovered several plastic bags containing approximately 7.24 grams of methamphetamine found in the possession of a female passenger, identified as thirty-eight year old Senayda Yasmin Vara Ortega. Both subjects were placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center.
