Wanted Person-Units responded to the US Border Patrol checkpoint on US Highway 57 this morning after agents reported detaining a male subject whose background check revealed an open warrant for his arrest. Contact was made with the Dallas County Sheriff's Office, who confirmed an open warrant on the subject, identified as Joan Manzano-Larreinaga. He was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
Possession of a Controlled Substance-Kickapoo Tribal Police officers made contact with deputies this afternoon after a traffic stop conducted on non-tribal members inside the reservation yielded the discovery of white crystallized methamphetamine inside the glove compartment and steering wheel cover of a Dodge Ram pickup. The driver, Fernando Arroyo and his passenger identified as Efren Lopez were then taken into custody after the substance tested positive for methamphetamine. They were then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
Motor Vehicle Accident/Leaving the Scene of an Accident-Units responded to the intersection of Del Rio Blvd. and Thompson Road at approximately 3:30 this morning after the driver of a 2010 Nissan Armada attempting to turn onto Del Rio Blvd. drove straight into a utility pole. Upon arrival at the scene, deputies found the unoccupied vehicle emitting a strong alcoholic odor along with spilled beer cans. Contact was made with the owner of the vehicle, who claimed the vehicle had been stolen by unknown subject(s). The vehicle was impounded to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office for further investigation.
