Maverick County Daily Reports-May 26, 2020

Wanted Person-Fifty-one year old Jose Aurelio Chavez was arrested at the international port of entry 1 this morning when a background check revealed a possible open warrant. Chavez was detained by agents at the port and deputies confirmed the warrant out of the Chambers County Sheriff's Office. Mr. Chavez was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Public Intoxication-Deputies responded to the US Border Patrol checkpoint on Highway 57 this afternoon after agents detained a male subject who displayed signs of intoxication. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the subject identified as Justin Renee Jimenez, who displayed bloodshot eyes and slurred speech and admitted to being under the influence of a narcotic substance. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.


Possession of a Controlled Substance-Deputies this evening were in contact with US Border Patrol South Station agents after an immigration check on a 2009 Chevrolet Avalanche led to the discovery of drug paraphernalia and a clear bag containing methamphetamine inside the vehicle. Deputies arrived at the location and placed two male subjects identified as Adan Rocha, Jr. and Manuel Borja under arrest. The pair were transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Motor Vehicle Accident-Units assisted Border Patrol agents this evening in locating a suspicious vehicle seen traveling on Highway 57. The vehicle was later located in the brush area off of Loop 480 and contact was made with the driver found inside who stated he had lost control of the vehicle and veered off of the roadway, causing it to roll over several times. EMS crews arrived at the scene to transport the male subject to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further evaluation.
