Maverick County Daily Reports-January 14, 2020

Deceased Person-Units this morning responded to calls of an unresponsive subject on the 2900 block of Lindbergh Circle. EMS crews were at the scene and upon further investigation, it was determined the elderly female subject had passed away due to natural causes. A Justice of the Peace declared the subject deceased.

Wanted Person-Agents at the international port of entry 2 advised deputies they had detained a female subject identified as Brenda Valera this afternoon when a check revealed an open warrant for her arrest out Idaho. The warrant on grand theft auto charges was confirmed and Ms. Valera was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Possession of a Controlled Substance-Units responded to the international port of entry 1 this evening after agents detained a nineteen year old subject found in possession of a controlled substance. A secondary inspection of a 2018 Kia Kicks yielded the discovery of approximately 13,160 grams (13 kilos) of methamphetamine. The subject, Luis Marcos Saucedo Velez, was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing and the vehicle involved was impounded to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office. This case is under investigation.
