Maverick County Daily Reports-January 21, 2020

Possession of a Controlled Substance/Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.-A county unit was dispatched to the US Border Patrol south station this evening after agents had detained a male subject who was found in possession of a controlled substance and marijuana. The subject, thirty-five year old Ranulfo Avalos, III, claimed ownership of a small container holding methamphetamine(10.84 g) and a clear plastic baggie containing marijuana(.19 oz.). He was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. The narcotics were tagged and place into an evidence locker.

Possession of a Controlled Substance-CBP agents at the international port of entry 2 this evening made contact with deputies after two male subjects were detained when a secondary inspection of a Chevrolet Express van they were traveling in yielded the discovery of a controlled substance. Agents at the port would discovery approximately 13,240 grams of methamphetamine and the subjects, Eloy Araiza Covarrubias and J. Feliz Salazar, were taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. The vehicle was impounded to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office and this case remains under investigation.

Possession of a Dangerous Drug-Gustavo de la Rosa Llanas was placed under arrest after CBP agents at the international port of entry 2 found him in possession of approximately 60 clonazepam pills during a pat down search. He was placed under arrest ans transported to the Tom Boles Detention Center for processing.
