Maverick County Daily Reports-December 28, 2019

Family Violence/Assault-A complainant on Vanessa Street reported a verbal argument with her ex-husband over custody issues escalated into a confrontation when he physically assaulted her. She further stated the male subject had taken their child with him and left the scene prior to a deputy's arrival. A formal report was filed.

Theft-A complainant on the 1700 block of Bianca Street reported unknown subject(s) had entered his vehicle and took several objects without consent. A formal report was filed.

Wanted Person-Twenty-seven year old Luis Pina was arrested at the international port of entry 2 this evening after a check revealed an open warrant out of Lawrence County, Missouri. The warrant was confirmed as active and Mr. Pina was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Driving Under the Influence-A deputy patrolling FM 1021 this evening conducted a traffic stop on a 2106 Toyota Camry for a minor infraction. Contact was made with the driver, eighteen year old Eric Lopez Heredia, whose vehicle emitted a strong marijuana odor. Mr. Heredia displayed signs of being under the influence and would admit to having smoked marijuana. He was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
