Motor Vehicle Accident with a Fixed Object/Pedestrians/Driving While Intoxicated-Units responded to the intersection of Boulder Ridge and Calle Nicolas early this morning after the driver of a 2008 Hyundai Tiburon travelling at a high rate of speed lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle struck a residential concrete wall, causing it to roll over and striking three acquaintances of the driver, who were in a private property near the street. The driver, twenty-four year old Leroy Herrera, along with the three pedestrians, twenty-nine year old Michelle Mendez, twenty-three year old Jennifer Mendez, and twenty-one year old Fabian Duenes were all transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center ER after sustaining serious injuries. Two of the subjects were later transported to a San Antonio area hospital via Air-Evac for further treatment. This case is under investigation.
Reckless Driving-Deputies arrested a male subject identified as Emmanuel De Leon after they observed him driving at a high rate of speed and disregarding stop signs in the Loma Bonita area of Maverick County this morning. He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
Motor Vehicle Accident-A unit was dispatched to FM1021 this morning after a 2018 Dodge Ram 3500 travelling eastbound veered off the roadway and struck a fence before coming to a complete stop. The vehicle was found unoccupied at the time of the deputies arrival and was towed by a local wrecker service.
Wanted Person-A deputy responded to the international port of entry 2 this afternoon after agents at the port detained a male subject whose background check revealed an open warrant out of Hays County. The warrant for the subject, identified as Jose L. Talamantes was confirmed and he was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
