Maverick County Daily Reports-September 13, 2019

Assault/Family Violence-A complainant on the 1300 block of Agarita Street reported she had been physically assaulted by a known male subject. A formal complaint was filed.

Wanted Person-Deputies responded to the international port of entry #2 after agents at the port had taken custody of a male subject turned over by Mexican authorities. The subject, twenty-eight year old Robbie Frank Vargas, had a warrant for his arrest after having escaped a US Marshals halfway house. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-Ubaldo Martinez was arrested at the international port of entry #1 this morning after a background check alerted CBP agents of an active warrant out of the US Marshals Service. Deputies were able to confirm the warrant and Mr. Martinez was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-Deputies arrested a male subject after a check revealed an active warrant out of the Maverick County Sheriff's Office. The subject, Alberto Villalobos, was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Theft-A complainant on the 700 block of Vienna reported his son had broken into his safe and took several items without consent. A formal report was filed.

Evading Arrest-A complainant on the 300 block of School Circle reported her son was in an intoxicated state when he was attempting to gain entry to her home via the rear entrance.Deputies observed the subject acting in an aggressive manner and attempted to make contact, however, the subject fled on foot.  Visual on the subject was lost and a search of the area was done to no avail. A formal report was filed.

Evading Arrest/Possession of Marijuana-a county unit patrolling Spur 216 this evening made contact with the driver of a black Mercedes who claimed his vehicle had run out of gas. Deputies detected a strong marijuana odor emitting from the vehicle and observed the driver had thrown a plastic bag containing a green leafy substance from the side of the vehicle. The subject then evaded deputies on foot when they attempted to place him under restraints for investigative purposes. He would later return to the scene to turn himself in. He was placed under arrest and the marijuana was taken into possession.
