Maverick County Daily Reports-February 16, 2019

DUI-A deputy on patrol early this morning arrested a male subject found under the influence after he was stopped for traveling nearly twenty-five miles over the speed limit. Upon contact, Manuel Gustavo Preito emitted a strong alcoholic odor from his person and admitted to having consumed alcoholic beverages. He was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Motor Vehicle Accident/DWI/Possession of a Controlled Substance-Units responded to US Highway 57 this evening after City of Eagle Pass Police Department officers advised of a single motor vehicle accident. Contact was made with officers at the scene who had found the vehicle in question and its driver stationary on US Highway 57, where the vehicle had reportedly struck a guardrail before leaving the scene of the accident. Contact was made with the driver, Alfonso de la Garza, who displayed signs of intoxication. He was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing, where he was later found in possession of a controlled substance. 

Assault/Family Violence-A resident on Guisseppi Street reported she and her son had been assaulted by her husband when he became upset. A formal report was filed.
