Maverick County Daily Reports-February 24, 2019

Theft-A complainant at the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino Hotel reported unknown subject(s) had entered her hotel room and took a pair of earrings and currency in coins without her consent. A formal report was filed.

Arson-A deputy patrolling the south side of Maverick County this afternoon came upon a structural fire near the 1900 block of Lewis. Eagle Pass Fire Department crews arrived at the location to safely extinguish the fire. While at the scene, deputies made contact with three male juvenile subjects who were later detained. Arson investigators have since taken over the investigation.

Hit and Run with a Pedestrian -Patrol units responded to Loma Bonita this evening after a male subject reported being struck by a vehicle while he was walking. Contact was made with thirty-nine-year-old Javier Hernandez, who told deputies he had been walking northbound on Progreso Street when an unknown vehicle failed to stop at the intersection and struck the right side of his body. The vehicle left the scene, traveling northbound on Progreso Street. EMS crews were summoned to the scene and Mr. Hernandez was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for treatment. This case remains under investigation.
