Maverick County Daily Reports-January 12, 2019

Possession of a Marijuana-A county unit responded to the US Border Patrol Checkpoint on US Highway 57 after agents detained a subject when a secondary inspection yielded the discovery of marijuana. Agents reported the subject, identified as Juan Manuel Mejia, Jr. advised he had hidden marijuana in his right shoe. A white folded paper containing a green leafy substance was found and the substance would test positive for marijuana. Mr. Mejia was arrested and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Burglary of Vehicle/Criminal Mischief-A resident on Laura Street reported unknown subject(s) unlawfully entered her vehicle and took a Wal-Mart prepaid card without consent and caused damages to her car stereo.

Burglary of Habitation-Deputies were dispatched to 49ers Street, where a resident reported a known male subject had entered his residence and had taken several items without consent. The complainant also reported his back door had been damaged in the process.

Burglary of Building-A complainant on Rosita Valley Road reported unknown subjects had entered a home under construction and had taken several construction tools and material without consent. A formal report was filed.

Disorderly Conduct-Genaro Baez was arrested on disorderly conduct charges after he had been involved in a physical altercation with another male subject this evening, causing minor lacerations to the subject's upper and lower lip. The subject was issued a citation and was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further evaluation. Mr. Baez was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for further processing.
