Maverick County Daily Reports-January 29, 2019

Wanted Person-A unit responded to the United States Border Patrol checkpoint on US Highway 57 this morning after agents had detained a male subject after a check revealed an open warrant for his arrest. The warrants out of Dallas County for Johhny Hernandez-Mares were confirmed and Mr. Hernandez was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Assault-A complainant on Desirable Drive reported she had been involved in a verbal argument with her ex-spouse which escalated into both subjects physically assaulting each other. The complainant did not wish to file charges, however, a formal report was filed.

Arson-Deputies were dispatched to a structural fire at a residence on Wildwood Drive late this afternoon. Fire crews were at the scene to safely extinguish the fire, which caused damages to a box trailer from an eighteen-wheeler. Contact was made with the property owners who reported seeing several juveniles start the fire before leaving the area. Arson investigators have since taken over the investigation.
