Maverick County Daily Reports-January 14, 2019

Deceased Person-A unit responded to the 1400 block of Chilo Street this morning after a resident reported she had awoken to find her sister in law unresponsive. EMS crews arrived at the scene at approximately 8:20 AM and the subject displayed no signs of life. The resident would tell deputies her sister in law had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and had been under hospice care. Justice of the Peace Smith declared the female subject deceased and a local funeral home took possession of the body.

Assault/Theft-Deputies responded to the 100 block of Cerna Circle this afternoon, where a male subject reported he had been involved in a verbal argument with his girlfriend. The subject further stated the female subject had become upset and assaulted him. The female subject left the scene with the male's cellular phone prior to a deputy's arrival.

Warrant-Cecilia Alessandra Masquecho was arrested on Baltica Street this afternoon after a traffic stop revealed an open warrant out of Maverick County. She was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle/Theft-A resident in El Indio, Texas reported unknown subject(s) took a 2017 Dodge van from his residence sometime in December 2018. The resident further reported several other items had been taken from his property. A formal report was filed.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle-Units responded to Molina Loop shortly after 8:45 PM this evening after a person reported he had located an unoccupied vehicle inside the canal area. A TCIC/NCIC check was performed and would reveal the vehicle, a 2014 red Hyundai Elantra, had been reported as stolen just days prior. The vehicle was towed back to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office for further investigation. This case remains under investigation.
