Wanted Person/Possession of a Controlled Substance(Methamphetamine)/Possession of a Controlled Substance(Cocaine)/Failure to Identify-Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a 1998 Nissan Sentra for a minor infraction off of Horseshoe and High Noon this evening, where contact was made with the occupants of the vehicle. One occupant, Jonathan Flood, had an active warrant out of the Maverick County Sheriff's Office on aggravated assault charges. A second occupant, Jesus Fidencio Rodriguez, was found with methamphetamine in his possession during a pat-down search. A search of the vehicle yielded the discovery of a .22 caliber revolver, several clear plastic baggies containing a white, powdery substance, and a small speaker containing a clear plastic baggie with methamphetamine characteristics. Mr. Flood was placed under arrest on possession of a controlled substance and wanted person charges. Mr. Rodriguez was placed under arrest on possession of a controlled substance and failure to identify charges after failing to provide his name and date of birth to a peace officer. The two were then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
