Maverick County Daily Reports-November 24, 2018

Criminal Mischief-A complainant on the 3200 block of La Herradura reported a known female subject had damaged his furniture after a brief verbal argument had transpired between the two. The complainant further reported he had left the home after the argument had occurred only to return to find the damaged pieces. A formal report was filed.

Burglary of Habitation-A resident on the 600 block of Progresso Street reported a known male subject had forcefully entered her home and began to damage several household items. The subject, who was reported to be in a highly intoxicated state, left the scene prior to deputies' arrival. A formal report was filed.

Wanted Person-A unit responded to the international port of entry 2 this morning after agents at the port detained a male subject whose background check revealed an active warrant. The warrant out of Zavala County for sixty year old Heriberto Hernandez was confirmed. He was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Possession of a Controlled Substance-A deputy on patrol this afternoon performed a traffic stop on a 1992 Chevrolet pickup seen driving recklessly on FM1021. Contact was made with the driver, Marco Antonio Medellin, who did not have a valid driver's license. Mr. Medellin would give consent to search the vehicle, which led to the discovery of a clear plastic baggie containing a white powdery substance. The substance tested positive for cocaine and Mr. Medellin would take ownership of the bag. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. The narcotics were placed in the evidence locker and the vehicle was towed by a local wrecker service.

Possession of a Dangerous Drug-A traffic stop on Eidson Road this evening yielded the discovery of a small clear plastic baggie containing synthetic marijuana after the driver consented to a search. Cristobal Flores would admit to possessing the drug for personal use. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
