Maverick County Daily Reports-October 16, 2018

Public Intoxication/Prohibited Substances and Items in a Correctional Facility-A deputy on patrol this morning conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Tahoe for a minor infraction on the 2100 block of FM1021. A strong marijuana odor was sensed upon approaching the vehicle and consent to search was given by the driver, identified as Bryan Alexis Mata. A firearm was found in the middle console and both the driver and passenger, Abraham Cisneros, admitted to being under the influence of marijuana. They were placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center.
Upon arrival at TBDC, it was revealed that Mr. Cisneros was concealing two clear plastic baggies containing a green leafy substance and one small clear plastic baggie containing a crystal-like substance. The substances would test positive for marijuana and methamphetamine and Mr. Cisneros faced additional charges. This case has been referred to the criminal investigations division.


Assault/Family Violence-A complainant on Bryan Street reported she was struck by a known male subject during a verbal argument. The subject also took several documents without her consent. A formal report was filed.

Failure to Identify/Resisting Arrest-County units responded to the 200 block of Victoriano in response to a family disturbance. Contact was made with a female complainant at the scene who reported she had been involved in an argument with her common-law husband who kicked her out of the residence. The complainant further stated she willingly accepted to leave and was packing items in her vehicle when her common-law husband became angered and locked the doors to the vehicle with her belongings inside. Contact was also made with the male subject, later identified as Tomas Avila, who was uncooperative with deputy requests. Mr. Avila refused to identify himself during several deputy attempts and resisted detention. After a brief struggle, he was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center on failure to identify and resisting arrest charges.

Recovered Stolen Property-Investigators conducting a stolen property investigation in Eagle Heights this afternoon observed a utility trailer belonging to a ranch owner out of El Indio, Texas. Contact was made with the owner, who reported he had been looking for the trailer to no avail. It was recovered from the 3000 block of Vanessa and the case is under investigation.  







Recovered Stolen Property-Investigators this afternoon received information that led to the discovery of items previously reported stolen with the Eagle Pass Police Department. Contact was made with a homeowner on the 3000 block of Venessa Street this afternoon, who gave consent to search their truck. Several items were recovered from the bed of the pickup truck ,including an air compressor, hoses, pneumatic air tools, and two tool boxes containing several mechanic tools. The estimated value of the vehicles recovered was $1,800.00. This case remains under investigation.
