Public Intoxication/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia-A county unit responded to the United States Border Patrol checkpoint on US Highway 57 this afternoon after agents detained two male subjects found in possession of a smoking pipe and a marijuana grinder. The subjects, Richard Cassias, Jr. and Rene Moreno were also both under the influence of marijuana. They were taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
Wanted Person-Deputies arrested thirty-five year old Jorge Ruiz at the international port of entry #2 this evening after agents at the port detained Ruiz when a check revealed an active warrant for his arrest. The warrant out of the Tulia County on theft of property charges was confirmed and Mr. Ruiz was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
