Maverick County Daily Reports-September 07, 2018

Wanted Person-A deputy responded to the Maverick County Adult Probation Department this afternoon after an officer at the location reported a male subject had revoked his probation. Luis Alberto Hernandez Trevino was taken into custody and was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon-Deputies arrested Cezar Fernie Gamez at the United States Border Patrol Checkpoint on Highway 57 after a secondary check on a Greyhound bus Mr. Gamez was traveling in revealed he was in possession of a handgun and two magazine clips. Mr. Gamez did not have a concealed handgun license and was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Recovered Narcotics-A deputy made contact with a resident on the 800 block of Wildwood who reported a known male subject had left a backpack on his front porch which contained a heroin-filled syringe. The narcotics were recovered from the scene and taken to the Sheriff's Office evidence locker. A formal report was filed.

Information Report-Units responded to Loop 480 this evening, whereupon arrival made contact with the occupants of a 2014 black Dodge Challenger and a 2016 Freightliner 18-wheeler. Preliminary investigations from the scene revealed both vehicles had been traveling north on Loop 480 when the Dodge Challenger attempted to make an illegal u-turn when it was struck by the trailer. The occupants of the Challenger were transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further treatment and this case has since been taken over by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
