Information Report(MVA)-Deputies were dispatched to US Highway 277 North near the intersection of Highway 131 this morning whereupon arrival made contact with the driver of a 2003 Ford F-150 who reported his vehicle had been struck by a red pickup truck who veered into his lane while traveling southbound. The impact caused damages to the front left area of the truck and the driver of the red pickup left the scene of the accident while the driver of the F-150 was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further evaluation.
The red pickup in question was later found stationary and unoccupied at a ranch located on US Highway 277 North. Contact was made with the owners of the ranch who were able to identify the owner of the vehicle.
The Texas Department of Public Safety has since taken over investigations.
