Maverick County Daily Reports-April 28, 2018

Wanted Person-Deputies arrested Brenda Balderas this morning after City of Eagle Pass Police officers had detained her when a check revealed an active warrant out of Maverick County. The warrant was confirmed and Ms. Balderas was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle/Motor Vehicle Accident with a Fixed Object-Deputies conducting Stonegarden Operations early this morning attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a 2010 Lincoln MKZ which field to yield. A brief chase ensued before the driver of the Lincoln lost control of the vehicle and struck a fence near the intersection of Encuentro and Progresso Street. The subject then fled the scene in an unknown direction, however, several undocumented citizens were found inside the vehicle. United States Border Patrol agents were summoned to the scene to take custody of the subjects at the scene and the vehicle was impounded to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle-Deputies responded to Balcones this afternoon after residents reported a suspicious white pickup. A check was conducted on the vehicle, which came back reported as stolen. It was impounded for further investigation.

Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz./Public Intoxication-A deputy patrolling Maverick County Lake this evening was flagged down by a concerned citizen who reported a male subject in a black vehicle possibly having a heart attack. Contact was made with the subject matching the description, who appeared to be in an intoxicated state. Consent to search the vehicle was given and drug paraphernalia was found in the middle console. A pat down on the subject found him to be in possession of two clear bags containing a green leafy substance. The subject, Rolando Javier Rodriguez, was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.-Deputies performing Stonegarden operations conducted a traffic stop for a minor infraction on Memo Robinson Road this evening. Contact was made with Mauricio Javier Chavarria, Jr. who gave consent to search the vehicle. A green leafy substance, as well as a rolled cigarette containing a green leafy substance, were found in the middle console. Mr. Chavarria was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
