Maverick County Daily Reports-April 11, 2018

Hit and Run-A complainant on the 100 block of Sunset reported someone had struck her 2015 Ford Edge at an unknown time and left the area.

Wanted Person-Deputies met with a male subject this afternoon who reported having an active warrant for his arrest and wanted to turn himself in. A check revealed active warrants for the subject, Gilberto Leija, was then escorted to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Fraud-a complainant reported having made a payment of approximately $950.00 to two individuals claiming to have been working for the Internal Revenue Service. A formal report has been filed.

Burglary of Habitation-A complainant on the 300 block of Crane reported an unknown subject entered his residence without consent and took a piano.

Possession of a Controlled Substance-Deputies working Operation Stonegarden this evening conducted a traffic stop on a 2004 Hyundai Elantra for a minor infraction. Contact was made with the driver, Daniel Macias, who granted consent to search the vehicle. A clear baggie containing a white powdery substance testing positive for cocaine was located inside the vehicle and Mr. Macias was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
