Maverick County Daily Reports-March 11, 2018

Motor Vehicle Accident/DWI-Units responded to Thompson Road early this morning after a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado had been involved in a single motor vehicle accident. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Fernando Fernandez, who reported he had fallen asleep behind the wheel. Mr. Fernandez had an alcoholic odor emitting from his person and was given a sobriety exam in which he performed poorly. He was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. 

Motor Vehicle Accident-Units responded to FM2644 near the County line this morning, where the driver of a 2006 Ford F-150 reported he had struck a while hog that had crossed onto the roadway. The pickup veered off of the road, striking the fence line of a property. The driver would refuse medical attention at the time of this report.

Information Report-Units were dispatched to Highway 277 North after the driver of a tractor trailer lost control of his vehicle, causing it to roll on its side. A wrecker service was summoned to the location, where the vehicle was removed from the roadway. The driver was medically cleared and the Texas Department of Public Safety has since taken over the investigation.

Public Intoxication-Anselmo Ruiz Zuniga was taken into custody this evening on public intoxication charges after he was found in an intoxicated state. He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
