Maverick County Daily Reports-November 03, 2017

Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon-Units responded to Guisseppi Street early this morning, where contact was made with four individuals at the scene  who reported three male subjects wearing ski masks attempted to sell them drugs. They further stated two of the subjects displayed handguns towards the individual and shot in the air several times before leaving the location. This case is under investigation.

Information Report-Deputies were dispatched to Highway 277 North in Quemado, Texas this morning after the driver of a 2016 Freightliner may have fallen asleep behind the wheel, causing him to veer onto an empty lot. Thirty-two year old Jean Change Cadet from Florida, who was travelling southbound at the time, was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further evaluation. The Texas Department of Public Safety was the scene at has since taken over the investigation.

Wanted Person-Sergio Mares was taken into custody at the international port of entry #2 this morning when a check revealed an active warrant for his arrest. The warrant was confirmed and Mr. Mares was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-A deputy made contact with a male subject on Steven Drive whose check revealed an active warrant for his arrest. Israel Galvan was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-Deputies on patrol this evening arrested a male subject identified as Jose Luis Aguilera after a check revealed an active warrant for his arrest. Mr. Aguilera was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-Genaro Varela, Jr. was placed under arrest after being detained by CBP agents at the port of entry when a check revealed an active warrant. The out of state arrest warrant out of the Saint Clare Sheriff's Office was confirmed and Mr. Varela was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.


Hit and Run-Units responded to Las Quintas Blvd. by Rafael Street this evening after a tractor trailer reported being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. Upon arrival, deputies observed rear end damages to the trailer and began a search of the area, which led to the discovery of an unoccupied 2001 GMC Yuukon with front end damages block away from the scene. The Yukon was impounded at the Maverick County Sheriff's Offfice for further investigation. The occupants of the tractor trailer refused medical service at the time of the report.
