Maverick County Daily Reports-October 15, 2017

Information Report-Deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Loop 480 and FM1021, where both a Chevrolet Silverado and Ford F-150 were found off of the roadway. The driver of the Ford F-150 was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center ER and the Texas Department of Public Safety was at the scene of the accident and are handling its
investigation.

Public Intoxication-Ruben Armando Ortega was taken into custody this morning after being detained at the international port of entry when he fell asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle while waiting to enter the United States. Contact was made with Mr. Ortega, who displayed signs of intoxication. He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz/Public Intoxication-A County unit responded to the international port of entry this morning after CBP agents detained two male subjects during secondary inspection. Genaro Baez Jr. was found to have a small plastic baggie containing marijuana characteristics in his front left pocket during a pat down. The driver of the vehicle, Mauricio Santos, displayed signs of intoxication, including bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and a strong alcoholic odor emitting from his person. Both were arrested and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.-A unit responded to the US Border Patrol checkpoint on US Highway 57 after agents detained two subjects in possession of marijuana. Mauricio Javier Gonzalez and Mona Lizzane Garcia were taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-Deputies were dispatched to the international port of entry this evening after a male subject was detained when a check revealed an active warrant. The warrant out of Bexar County for Alejandro Galan was confirmed and Mr. Galan was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
