Maverick County Daily Reports-September 11, 2017

Possession of Marijuana under 2 Oz.-A unit responded to the United States Border Patrol checkpoint on US Highway 57 this morning after agents detained a male subject found in possession of marijuana. Daniel Carrizales, Jr. was placed under arrest on possession under 2 oz. charges and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Assault/Family Violence-Deputies were dispatched to a residence on the 1700 block of Coyunda this morning where contact was made with a female subject who had been involved in a verbal argument with her former spouse. The argument escalated and the complainant stated she was pushed to the ground twice, causing bodily injury. The male subject, however, left the scene prior to a deputies' arrival. Medical attention was refused at the time of the incident.


Recovered Stolen License Plates-County Code Enforcement officers reported several abandoned vehicles by Las Quintas Blvd. this morning that were in need of tagging after being found stationary for months. The vehicles were tagged, however, one vehicle bearing North Dakota license plates came back reported stolen out of Baytown, Texas. Further investigation revealed the vehicle's description based on its identification number did not match the license plate description. The plates were removed from the vehicle and taken to the Sheriff's Office.

Burglary of Building-A complainant on the 1800 block of Hilltop Circle reported unknown subject(s) took a set of wheels and an air conditioning unit from his shed without consent.
