Maverick County Sheriff's Office Livestock Control

The following horses have been picked up by the Sheriff's Office Livestock Control assistants. 

The paint pictured above was picked up in the Deer Run area off of Violeta Street on July 30th. He was found tied up with no water within reach during a period of very high temperatures. 


The Dun horse below was picked up on Wagon Wheel Road on July 30th. He was found roaming loose on a residence. 


For more information on how to have an animal picked up, please call the Sheriff's Office at 830-773-2321. Horses and livestock found loose or tied up without proper food or water will be picked up at the owner's expense. A pick up fee of $25.00 will be assessed and stable fees are $18.00 per day. After an eighteen day period without being claimed, the animals are subject to auction.
