Maverick County Daily Reports-June 03, 2017

Theft-A resident on the 1700 block of Ginebra reported he had left building material outside of his property, where unknown subject(s) had taken it without consent. The complainant further advised deputies that approximately $450.00 worth of materials had been taken.

Theft-An employee at a Dollar General store located on FM1021 reported an unknown male subject wearing a light blue shirt and jeans had entered the store and took approximately $400.00 worth of detergent from the store without paying.

Burglary of Vehicle-A complainant reported an unknown subject unlawfully gained enter into her 2006 Ford Fusion and took an Intech seven inch screen radio from the dash. A report was taken.

Motor Vehicle Accident-Deputies responded to Highway 57 near Chacon Creek, whereupon arrival, observed a 2009 Mitsubishi had struck a light pole. The vehicle, which came back registered out of San Antonio, Texas, was found unoccupied at the time of contact.

Theft-A resident on Fawn Drive reported unknown subject(s) had taken two re-bar cutters and a laser level from his front yard this afternoon.

Theft-A complainant on Coyunda Street in Loma Bonita reported unknown subject(s) had taken his German Sheppard dog from his property without consent.

Wanted Person-Christopher Rene Cantu was taken into custody this evening at the United States Border Patrol checkpoint on US Highway 57 after being detained by agents when a check revealed an active warrant. The warrant out of Nueces County was confirmed and Cantu was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.-A unit was dispatched to the United States Border Patrol checkpoint on US Highway 57 this evening after a male subject was detained when he was found to be in possession of marijuana. Roberto Rangel was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
