Maverick County Daily Reports-May 13, 2017

Assault/Family Violence-A complainant on the 200 block of Frente Street reported her boyfriend arrived at her residence and began a verbal argument, which escalated into a physical confrontation. The subject, however, left prior to a deputies' arrival.

Criminal Mischief/Assault with a Deadly Weapon-A resident on the 3100 block of Tita Street reported her boyfriend engaged in a verbal argument with her and then broke a window to her residence before pulling a kitchen knife and threatening her life. The subject left the scene prior to a unit's arrival.

Deputies en route to the scene were given a description of a black Mercedes that had left the location and were able to spot the vehicle shortly thereafter entering FM1021 from Las Quintas Blvd. at a high rate of speed. The County unit, however, lost visual of the vehicle for a short time, which was found to be traveling on FM1021 at a very high rate of speed. The deputy was able to observe a large cloud of dust coming from the intersection of 1021 and Wildwood Drive, where it was determined the vehicle had been involved in a single motor vehicle accident. EMS crews were summoned to the scene and a search of the area found the driver laying on the ground with sustained injuries. The driver was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center ER and was later flown to San Antonio via Air-Evac. An investigation at the scene determined that the Mercedes was traveling eastbound on 1021 when it attempted to make a left turn onto Wildwood, but lost control and struck a cement covert, causing it to to go airborne and flip twice. The driver of the vehicle was then ejected. The Texas Department of Public Safety was summoned to the scene and has taken over the case.

Burglary of Vehicle-a deputy was dispatched to the 2900 block of Diaz Street, where a complainant reported unknown subject(s) had entered his vehicle and took several items without consent.

Wanted Person-Jose Antonio Tellez was arrested at the United States Border Patrol checkpoint on US Highway 57 this morning after being detained when a check revealed an active warrant for his arrest out of Maverick County.
