Maverick County Daily Reports-March 13, 2017

Motor Vehicle Accident/Hit and Run-Deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident this morning after the driver of a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu reported she had been struck from behind by a grey Ford pickup, which fled the scene in an unknown destination. The driver was then transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further medical treatment. This case is under investigation.

Motor Vehicle Accident with a Fixed Object-Deputies responded to US Highway 277 North this afternoon after the driver of 2004 Chevrolet vehicle suffered a seizure, causing him to lose control of the vehicle and crashing into a fixed object. The impact caused the vehicle to catch fire, engulfing it in flames.

Wanted Person-Deputies responded to a residence on Cross Creek, where a custody check yielded the discovery of two active warrant for a male subject at the location. Jose Luis Ramirez was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Resisting Arrest/Assault on a Public Servant-Units were dispatched to the 1600 block of Baltica Street in reference to an aggressive male subject at the locale. Contact was made with Jose Humberto Hernandez upon arrival, who resisted when deputies attempted to conduct a search. After being taken into custody, Mr. Hernandez continuously hit his head inside the unit, causing several lacerations. He was transported to the Emergency Room for treatment before being arrested and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Identification Theft-A complainant reported an unknown subject had used her personal information without consent to open a utility account.

Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.-Deputies on patrol this evening arrested the driver of a 2006 Chevrolet HHR after he was found to be in possession of marijuana during a routine traffic stop. Valentin Guerra, Jr. was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
