Maverick County Daily Reports-December 25, 2016

Aggravated Assault-Deputies responded to the 200 block of Diaz Street in reference to a possible fight in progress. Upon arrival, contact was made with both parties. One male subject had a stab wound to his right abdomen area and a second male was found with minor lacerations to the facial area. EMS crews Were summoned to the scene where the wounded male subject was transported to the Emergency Room for further medical attention. Witnesses at the scene told deputies the two male victims were assaulted by two male subjects, who had used a knife during the assault and displayed guns. The subjects were placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. This case is under investigation.

Driving While Intoxicated/Motor Vehicle Accident-Armando Banda was arrested early this morning after displaying signs of intoxication. Deputies responded to Highway 57, where Mr. Banda was involved in a single motor vehicle accident when he fell asleep behind the wheel and veered off the roadway, striking a  fence. He was taken into custody after admitting to having consumed alcohol. He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Assault/Family Violence-Deputies responded to the 1600 block of Becos, where a male subject identified as Raymundo Flores was taken into custody after he attempted to strike family members with a tool. Mr. Flores was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Motor Vehicle Accident with a Fixed Object-A single motor vehicle accident off of Wagon Wheel Road led to a power outage for several hours this morning when a 2007 Ford F-150 struck a light pole after it had collided into a parked Nissan Pathfinder. Witnesses at the scene saw two females and a male subject flee the scene of the accident. Deputies, however, were able to conduct a search of the area and found a male subject, identified as Raul Hernandez, and a female juvenile who both admitted to being passengers in the vehicle. Mr. Hernandez was found to be intoxicated and was arrested and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. This case remains under investigation.

Wanted Person-Josephine Perez was arrested at the international port of entry #2 when a background check revealed an active warrant out of Dallas County. The warrant was confirmed and Ms. Perez was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Burglary of Building-A complainant on the 2400 block of Eidson Road reported unknown subject(s) entered his building through a side window and took several car batteries without consent.
