Maverick County Daily Reports-December 13, 2016

Theft-A complainant on the 1600 block of Encuentro reported subjects had taken several items from outside her residence without her consent.

Motor Vehicle Accident-Units responded to a motor vehicle accident on US Highway 57 this morning by mile marker 396. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the driver of a 2014 Ford Focus, which had struck a deer crossing the highway. A second vehicle,  A mercury van traveling on Highway 57, did not observe the Focus on the roadway and struck the passenger side door, causing minor damages. The parties involved refused medical attention at the time of this report and the Focus was towed by a local wrecker company.

Possession of Marijuana 4 oz. < 5 lbs. , Wanted Person-Deputies this morning made contact with Border Patrol agents at the USBP checkpoint on US Highway 57 after they initially detained two male subjects. Upon making contact with the two subjects in question traveling in a Chevrolet Cobalt, a strong odor of marijuana was detected. A vehicle search yielded the discovery of a clear plastic bag containing a green leafy substance, which tested positive for approximately 8.4 oz. of marijuana. The male passenger, identified as Bartolome Galan, was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana. A check on Mr. Galan revealed an active warrant out of Maverick County for a previous possession charge. The driver, Darryel Ramirez, was also arrest when a check also revealed an active warrant out of Maverick County. The two individuals were transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-Alejandra Clarissa Garza was arrested at the international port of entry #2 this morning after a background check revealed an active warrant out of Maverick County. She was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-Deputies on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a GMC Sierra on FM2030 this morning. A check on one of the passengers, identified as thirty-one year old Fernando Herrera, revealed an active warrant out of Maverick County. The warrant was confirmed and Mr. Herrera was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Damage to Property, Theft-A complainant on South Veteran's Blvd. reported unknown subjects had cut his fenceline in order to gain entrance into a property. The subject(s) also took four mud tires and four rims without consent from the property.

Theft-A deputy responded to the 300 block of Winchester, where a resident reported unknown subject(s) took a goat from his property.

Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle-A resident arrived at the Maverick County Sheriff's Office to report unknown subject(s) took his 2012 Ford F-150 without his consent.
