Maverick County Daily Reports-November 19, 2016

Wanted Person-Deputies responded to the 1600 block of Eidson Road this morning after receiving calls of a possible disturbance. Upon arrival at the scene, it was discovered that a verbal argument had ensued between a male and female. A check further revealed that the female, identified as Adriana Veronica Esquivel, had an outstanding warrant for her arrest out of Bexar County, Texas. Ms. Esquivel was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Public Intoxication-A county unit patrolling FM1021 this morning witnessed a Ford F-150 stationary at a green light and proceeded to conduct a traffic stop. Lizeth Gomez, the driver of the vehicle, told deputies she had been drinking earlier that day. She would be taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Resisting Arrest/Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.-Deputies on patrol this evening conducted a traffic stops on a 2005 Buick Rendezvous for a minor infraction. Upon making contact with the driver, identified as Raul Cuevas, the deputy noticed a strong odor of marijuana emitting from Mr. Cuevas and inside the vehicle. As deputies were planning to do a search on the Buick, Mr. Cuevas intervened and resisted arrest at the moment deputies attempted to detain him. A search of the vehicle yielded the discovery of a cigarette containing a green leafy substance inside the center console. Mr. Cuevas was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Driving While Intoxicated-Deputies patrolling FM1021  arrested the driver of a 2000 Chevrolet Trailblazer after displaying signs of intoxication. Ruben Jurado was taken into custody this evening after initially being stopped for a minor traffic infraction. Sobriety exams were conducted on Mr. Jurado, who performed poorly. He was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing. Mr. Jurado later provided a specimen of his breath, which revealed his alcohol concentration level surpassed the legal limit.
