Maverick County Daily Reports-October 15, 2016

Possession of a Controlled Substance-A deputy patrolling El Indio Highway early this morning conducted a traffic stop on a 2014 Ford Escape. Contact was made with a male subject, who was not in possession of a driver's license and was allowed to switch drivers with his wife. Upon stepping out of the vehicle, several clear plastic baggies fell from the driver's possession, one of them later testing positive for cocaine. Eduardo Gonzalez was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Theft-A complainant on the 1900 block of Boulder Ridge reported someone entered his property and took a welding machine without his consent.

Wanted Person-Deputies arrested Jonathan Talamantes at the international port of entry 1 after CBP agents had detained him when a background check revealed an open warrant. The warrant was confirmed as active and he was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Motor Vehicle Accident-Deputies responded to the intersection of FM1021 and Tierra Soberana Blvd, where a Cadillac Escalade and Toyota Tundra were involved in a motor vehicle accident. The Toyota truck sustained damages to its front left quarter panel after attempting to turn right onto FM1021 from Tierra Soberana.The Cadillac also sustained damages to its right from quarter panel. The occupants of both vehicles refused medical attention at the time of the report.

Public Intoxication-Deputies responded to Buena Vista in reference to a possibly intoxicated male subject this evening. Upon arrival, contact was made with Arturo Garza, who had a slurred speech, unstable balance, and a strong alcoholic odor emitting from his person.Mr. Garza was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
