Maverick County Daily Reports-June 11, 2016

Wanted Person-Twenty-seven year old Sonia Cantu was arrested this morning after a check revealed an active warrant out of Maverick County. Cantu was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.


Deceased Person-Deputies responded to a residence on Ruela Street this morning in reference to a deceased person. Upon arrival, the male subject was located in a bedroom inside the residence. Justice of the Peace Melendrez pronounced the victim deceased at approximately 11:45 AM

Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.-Deputies responded to the international Port of Entry #2 after a secondary inspection of a male subject found him to be in possession of a small plastic baggie with a green substance. The substance tested positive for marijuana and deputies arrested Raul Nuncio and transported him to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Possession of a Dangerous Drug-Units responded to the 1100 block of Baltica this afternoon in regards to an unwanted person. Upon arrival, contact was made with twenty-one year old Erik Martinez, who was found standing in the driveway and appeared to be intoxicated. Deputies chose to conducted a pat down on Mr. Martinez, in which he revealed he was in possession of synthetic marijuana. (Climax .140 oz.) He was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Family Violence-A complainant on Ruela Street reported a verbal argument with her husband for unknown reasons turned into a physical confrontation when he became irate with her and grabbed her by the hair and pulled her towards him. Her husband then left the residence towards and unknown location.

Dog Bite-A complainant reported her son had been bitten by a mixed-breed dog at a known location after falling from jumping off the front porch. While on the ground, the dog bit the boy twice on the right calf and once on the left calf. He was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further treatment.
