Maverick County Daily Reports-April 4, 2016

Wanted Person-A deputy responded to the banks of the Rio Grande River, where United States Border Patrol agents had detained a male subject with an active warrant. William Estrada was taken into custody after warrant out of Austin, Texas was confirmed. He was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Evading Arrest-Deputies were dispatched to Yucca Loop this morning in regards to a disturbance in progress. Upon arrival, the deputy attempted to make contact with a male subject, later identified as Luis Flores, who ignored commands and ran inside of a residence. Flores would later be found hiding after the homeowner gave consent to search the home. He would be placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz.-Deputies arrived at the United States Border Patrol south station, where agents had detained a male subkect in possession of marijuana. Luis Felipe Sanchez was placed under arrest and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Public Intoxication-Jose Arturo Curi was placed under arrest this morning after he was found in an intoxicated state at Valerie Park. For his safety, he was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Theft-A deputy was dispatched to a residence on Tina Drive, where a complainant reported her brown pony had been taken from her property without consent.

Wanted Person-A background check on Guillermo Juarez Torres revealed an active warrant for his arrest out of Maverick County. He was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Resisting Arrest-Deputies responded to Candelario Montavlo Drive this afternoon, where contact was made with a wanted male subject identified as Joel Velasquez. Necessary forced was used to place Mr. Velasquez in hand restraints after he repeatedly refused to comply with officer demands. He was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
