Maverick County Daily Reports-December 18, 2015

Motor Vehicle Accident/DWI/Public Intoxication-Deputies were dispatched to FM1021 near Stripes this morning in regards to a motor vehicle accident. At approximately 3:59 AM, units were en route to the scene, where upon arrival, observed a 2014 F-150 that had struck a guard rail and fell into a trench off of the road. Contact was made with the driver and passenger of the vehicle, identified as fifty year old Maximo Castilleja and twenty-two year old Myriam Ramirez Navarro. Mr. Castilleja told deputies he lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons.

Both occupants of the vehicle showed signs of intoxication and Mr. Castilleja was placed under arrest on DWI charges after refusing to take a standardized field sobriety test. Ms. Navarro attempted to leave the scene, running westbound on FM1021, and was later placed under arrest on Public Intoxication charges.  Both refused medical attention at the time of the report before being transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Wanted Person-Deputies made contact with CBP agents at the international Port of Entry #1 who detained a male subject with an active warrant. Deputies confirmed the warrant out of Tom Green County on Raphael Alvarez. He was taken into custody and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Assault-Deputies responded to the Mcdonald's parking lot on S. Veteran's Blvd. this afternoon, where upon arrival, made contact with a juvenile male with a bloodied nose. The juvenile told officers he was walking on Lewis Street when a male aggressor approached him and assaulted him in the facial area. EMS crews were summoned to the scene but the subject refused further medical attention. He was referred to the Criminal Investigations Division for further process.
