Maverick County Sheriff's Office(PRESS RELEASE)-September 14, 2015
Sheriff Tom Schmerber joined Coahuila Governor Ruben Moreira Valdez and Piedras Negras Mayor Fernando Puron Johnston Saturday afternoon for the incineracion de enervantes hosted be the Procuraduria General de Justicia del Estado. Sheriff Schmerber, accompanied by Pct. Four Commissioner Roberto Ruiz and County Treasurer Rito Valdez, was on hand to witness the burning of illegal drugs and destruction of contraband confiscated in the Northern Coahuila region. It was the second burning attended by the Sheriff, who continues to emphasize bi-national cooperation amongst the several law enforcement agencies along the border.
