Maverick County Daily Reports-June 23, 2015

Harassment by Phone- A female complainant stated her ex-boyfriend threatened her by saying he was going to hurt her and her children.

Family Violence, Assault-Deputies arrived to the 100 block of Sosa in reference to a disturbance in progress. The female complainant told deputies her seventeen year old's medication was not working properly and he had become aggressive towards her by kicking her. The son was arrested and transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.

Criminal Mischief-Deputies responded to the 200 block of Ruela Street after a female stated that the back window to her business had been broken by unknown actor(s).

Injured Person-A sixty year-old male in El Indio, Texas was attacked by a deer when he attempted to feed his goats. EMS crews were summoned to the location to transport the individual to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center Emergency Room for further medical treatment. The deer was killed on sight prior to the deputy's arrival.

Motor Vehicle Accident with a Fixed Object-Deputies were dispatched to the Maverick County Lake when a vehicle driven by 18 year old Carolina Kancheff veered off  to the right and struck a tree. Ms. Kancheff and a passenger refused medical attention, however, a 3rd occupant was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center Emergency Room for treatment.

Assault-Deputies arrived to the 1700 block of Oaxaca Street after a female complainant stated she had gotten into a verbal argument with her boyfriend. Upon arrival, she further stated that her boyfriend became irate and struck her in the facial area with a closed fist. The boyfriend had left the scene prior to the deputies arrival.

Possession of Marijuana-Deputies responded to a family violence call in Seco Mines  near the 11:15 PM hour. Units arrived to the 2800 block of Sanchez Street and were given consent by the tenant to investigate the premises. Through further investigation, deputies discovered a total of 18.6 oz. of marijuana inside of said residence. Nineteen year-old Joseph Martinez claimed ownership for the marijuana and was placed under arrest for Possession of Marijuana over 4 oz. and under 5 pounds. Mr. Martinez was then transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing.
