Deputies responded to calls of a possible deceased person by the hydro plant in the northern sector of Maverick County Monday afternoon. At approximately 3:09 PM deputies responded to the scene where they made contact with a Maverick County Water District employee who stated a male subject was found floating in the canal. The male, identified as Marcos Martinez Amaya of Honduras, was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Castaneda. The body was recovered by a local funeral home.
